I have put a few drops of CA glue on a molar pick and rubbed the toothpick on the inside of the stripped pigsty. wait a few hours and practise it again.

I ordinarily shave a small length of plastic nearly the size of a tooth selection and superglue it into the pigsty. Others have filled the hole with stuff like JB Weld and redrilled the holes later it dries. Notwithstanding others just apply superglue to the screw, tighten it equally much equally possible (works best if the hole is not completely stripped out) and allow it dry in place.

ORIGINAL: IvanG

I did the larger screw, just it simply worked one time. And now they are stripped again

All have a myriad of fixes for refurbishing the scre hole in the plastic. These are okay, but they are alot of the times not similar the original. The best remedy I accept hear is to just replace the piece altogether.

If y'all must insist on keeping the piece, if room ermits, you can dispense with the wood-like screws (like the Z569) and go with a nut and bolt instead. Merely put the bolt in and spiral in the nut behind it, loc tite that, and equally the Frecnh say, voila!

I accept no idea what this site is all near simply I found this via google and registered just to reply to this postal service. I have a puddle valve with stripped screw holes from a too heavy valve actuator that are causing a leak. To "Supplant the plastic part" would exist a huge undertaking given the location and the configuration of the PVC plumbing. I accept searched high and depression for a simple solution that would piece of work in this difficult environs and and then I saw this. I had just cutting a zip necktie that was holding backlog command line to my valve so everything that I needed for this fix was already staring me in the face, and so far, it works like a champ! Cheers!

DUDEEEEEE give thanks you lot so much for this tip; i was near to fill the holes with JB weld and redrill them but this was sooooo much easier.

We used to salvage the plastic "tree'south" from the parts that came in kits. If you stripped a pigsty, y'all'd cut a length of the tree off, drill a bigger hole, glue or epoxy it in, drill new screw pigsty. It worked very well considering you were using the same plastic the part was made from.

Huh. I like that.

Dude, Thanks so much for the idea. Solved my problem. I really institute this post searching for a style to fix some stripped out holes in a freezer door handle. Would have toll me $50-75 for a new handle if I could notice one in stock. A few cable tie clippings in the pigsty held fast, at least for at present. Once again...thanks!

A drop or two of CA glue on the screw and seating the screw works pretty well also. Look a mean solar day or two before snugging the spiral the rest of the style.

Fast way, similar I do on airplanes. For plastic squirt denatured alcohol first and attempt to clean. Then scratch up within with xacto knife or something. Couple drops of CA. Squirt kicker in and thread spiral in then out. Echo v or 10 times real quick.

The zip tie trick is the but one you need in a compression. Works on pretty much annihilation.

From all the methods I've seen mentioned here, the screw hole problem should be successfully fixed many times over, but only in case at that place is still a peckish for another way to do information technology...
Fill the screw hole with blistering soda, add a drop of thin CA to saturate the pulverisation and you're instantly prepare to drill a new pilot hole for the screw.

I had to replace a Hayward Multiport valve assembly with handle for the top of my Hayward Sand filter on my pool. It was basically the cheapest way to go a new gasket replacement since it was already glued to the entire assembly. To reattach this assembly, of which you may be familiar, was to screw 6 screws dorsum into the main portion of the top of the sand filter. The very last screw I put back, I found the hole was stripped. I tried different screws in the aforementioned pigsty and zippo worked. In the process of picking the quondam part support, a piece of black plastic fell out of that original hole. This told me the hole had been stripped out at the factory and reinforced with this piece of plastic, every bit I had never had this role off of the Hayward sand filter. Since this is a part of the pool equipment where a lot air force per unit area is involved, will the idea of the "zilch necktie" work to reinforce that ane hole and still create the proper air pressure that I will need to operate the pool filter efficiently? I had hunted everywhere for a slightly larger machine screw, merely could never find one. This fix appeals to me if I can nevertheless maintain the proper air force per unit area that is required to operate the pool without leaks. Counting on your opinion equally an experienced pool owner and one who has used the zippo necktie ready....LOL.....Thanks!

You can put a drop of CA gum on the spiral too. With the mucilage wet, spiral the screw in close to where it would be tight and let set overnight. Lightly tighten the screw the next day and you should be proficient.
